About The Domain:
DesiPagal.com was originally registered by me in November 11, 2000.  The name was mainly derived from the fact that I am Desi and some friends called me Pagal.  The following year I ran a small web and graphics design company by the name of DPNY which stands for Desi Pagal New York.  Throughout the years, DPNY had has evolved into DPNY Entertainment, serving more than just web and graphics design.  After years have passed, DP - Desi Pagal, is back again… for what it was originally meant to be at the time when blog wasn’t what blog is today… it used to be more like a journal.  I am just glad that DesiPagal is back!

What is Desi?
Desi (or Deshi; pronounced ‘de-si’), literally means “local, regional” or “indigenous”, as opposed to videshi meaning “foreign”. The term is used to refer to people or things of South Asian origin.  Specially Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives and Sri Lanka.  In my case, I am from Bangladesh, although my root traces back to India within the last 60 somthing years.

What is Pagal?
Now that is, indeed, a very good question!  Pagal (Pronunced ‘paa-gal’), literally means “crazy”, “psycho” and “an idiot” in general.  Aside from literal meaning, a lover can appoint or call their lover by this name to show affection and how madly they are in love.  In my case, i’ll leave the meaning up to the reader. 

Who am I?
I am NOT whom I claim to be.  I am NOT a fraud… I am someone, if you know who I am, then I am…. I am someone like the wave of sea, washed away the sand many times yet I am never done washing them away!  Like the rain, fell in the ground, washed in the river… climbed the mountain… fall again like the gentle snow!
